{"id":833,"date":"2020-06-27T06:09:16","date_gmt":"2020-06-27T06:09:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/devportal.co.nz\/ucs\/?p=833"},"modified":"2020-06-27T06:09:16","modified_gmt":"2020-06-27T06:09:16","slug":"10-awesome-cleaning-hacks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/upholsterycleaningspecialists.co.nz\/10-awesome-cleaning-hacks\/","title":{"rendered":"10 Awesome Cleaning Hacks"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Fabric cleaning tips &#8211; Lock down is officially (hopefully) over and you know what that means: It\u2019s time to do some spring cleaning!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While we can help you with professional upholstery cleaning &#8211; knowing a few quick and easy tricks can make the process of cleaning your house and keeping it tidy a whole lot easier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To help save you some time and frustration \u2014 along with a lot of wasted money on cleaning products \u2014 here\u2019s a list of some cheap and easy hacks that will transform your cleaning routine!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>1. Repurpose Dryer Sheets<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Even after they\u2019ve been used, dryer sheets can work magic around your house!&nbsp;Here are some things they can do:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Buff water spots from mirrors, bathroom\/kitchen fixtures and&nbsp;shower doors<\/li><li>Remove the ring inside the toilet<\/li><li>Wipe baseboards clean<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>2. Tackle a Stinky Garbage Disposal With Lemon<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Add a fresh scent to your kitchen by&nbsp;cutting up a lemon and running a couple of small slices through the garbage disposal. (This is also a great trick to use just before guests arrive!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>3. Clean the Blender<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Fill your blender&nbsp;with warm water and a drop of dish soap.&nbsp;Turn it on and let it go for a for a few seconds. Then rinse it out with warm water and you\u2019re all set!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>4. Clean Your Sponge<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Sponges can pick up a lot of bacteria, especially if they\u2019re left in the sink. You want to make sure you clean them frequently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s so easy: Just pop the wet sponge in the microwave for 30 seconds to remove any&nbsp;bacteria! Just wait a minute or two before pulling out since it\u2019ll still be hot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can also put your sponge in the dishwasher to get it nice and clean again!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>5. Get Tile Floors Looking Like New Again<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you\u2019ve vacuumed the floor, all you need is a bucket of water, some light detergent and a rag. Then start scrubbing! Make sure to frequently clean the rag and water to make sure you aren\u2019t just pushing more dirt around on the floor. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you really want to get the tough spots out, try using a toothbrush! Seriously, it will change your life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>6. Clean the Baseboards<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If it\u2019s been a while, use a broom or dry rag to sweep off the dust, and then vacuum the area.&nbsp;Use a wet cloth or sock to remove any remaining dust or dirt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To clean the baseboards,&nbsp;all you need is a sponge (or soft toothbrush) and a bucket of water with a small amount of dish detergent. Once you\u2019ve done the washing part,&nbsp;then use a damp rag to remove any leftover soap residue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>7. Unblock Air Vents<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If you haven\u2019t checked in a while, your air vents are probably pretty dirty and dusty. Not only does that send dust into the room, it also blocks the air from getting out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Easy fix: First try to remove dust with a soft vacuum brush tool. If that doesn\u2019t get the job done, then soak a rag with any cleaning agent you have and wrap it around a butter knife to clean the vents!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>8. Use Vinegar to Get Rid of Hard Water Spots<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Vinegar can do wonders for your faucets that have hard water spots. Check out this video to see how it works!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>9. Clean the Blinds<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>These are also&nbsp;probably pretty dirty if you haven\u2019t cleaned them in a while, so here\u2019s an easy solution:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Combine equal parts water and vinegar in a bowl and get a sock to put over your hand.&nbsp;Dip the sock in the solution&nbsp;and then run it over each slat of the blinds to remove any dirt or dust!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>10.
